Season Finale 2v2 Tournament

So of you may already know this, but we are hosting a 2v2 tournament the Saturday of the MLG Finals. Due to space constraints we have to limit the tourney to 10 teams. The good news is that it will be a double elimination tourney. The entry fee is $20 a team ($10 a person) with the fallowing payouts:

1st: $100
2nd: $50
3rd: $25

These prizes values are assuming that 10 teams compete if we have less the prizes will be less. The tourney will be MLG settings with a set map cycle that will be released soon. The first round of Winners and Losers Bracket will be to 25 kills and the remaining rounds will be to 50 kills. I will post later this week with info on preregistration for the tourney.

WCG Finals Day 3 and 4

I’ll just come out and say it. We placed 4th. I don’t think anyone is partially happy about this turn of events, and it is something that will be addressed in the coming weeks. We breezed through group play, so we were better than half the teams there. Our luck ran out on Saturday though. Here are the game scores from Sat:

Winners Round 1 (MoB HotN Mild):
    Construct: 97-124 we lose
    Pit: 76-81 we lose

Losers Round 1 (Sambydee):
    Guardian 92-90 we win
    Pit: 77-83 we lose
    Narrows: 98-101 we lose

As you can tell from the scores all of these games we extremely close with the leader of the game changing constantly. Many of these games we should have won, but for some reason we just couldn’t pull it out. After we lost and we chilled for the rest of the day, and the next morning Kronen and I flew back to Dallas to get back to school.

WCG has posted the video of our main stage match on Friday here.
They should also be posting video of our match against Sambydee soon.

I posted the Day Three and Four pictures in the gallery.

WCG Finals Day 2

Today we enjoyed the spectacle that is e for all…. And played some Halo too. Today we participated in the first phase of the tournament; group play. Basically the eight teams were divided in to groups of four. Each group played a round robin tourney within themselves. The top two teams from each group advance to the double elimination bracket. We advanced along with MoB to the double elimination tournament. The games went as follows:

Round 1 (Team Neutralyze):
    Narrows: 149-40 we win
    Construct: 156-68 we win
Round 2 (Whacked Energy):
    Narrows: 106-101 we win
    Pit: 109-70 we win
Round 3 (Cerebral Mayhem):
    Guardian: 177-51 we win
    Construct: 185-50 we win
Round 4(MoB Deep):
    Pit: 87-99 we lose
    Construct: 85-143 we lose

So we won 6 out of the 8 games that we played. I’ll post more tomorrow.

I posted the Day 2 pictures in the gallery.

We are now in LA! We got in at about 5pm local time and have been practicing / chilling since. When you are at a tournament the first thing that you have to do is start things right with a team dinner. California Pizza Kitchen played host to Team Fallout tonight. The WCG opening ceremonies are tomorrow at 10am local time, after the opening ceremonies we have a few rounds of group play. Once we are finished playing expect many pictures and live updates from the eforall show floor.

I’ve posted a few pictures in the Gallery from today.

Don’t forget to follow us live on Pownce!

In the past I have given coverage of every gaming event that Team Fallout have participated in. This coverage has usually consisted of daily text and picture updates to teamfallout.net. For the WCG USA finals we will be doing the same daily updates that are our staple of live event coverage. This time I am incorporating live blogging into our coverage. Utilizing pownce I will be posting updates throughout the day from LA. I will be posting small updates and pictures from my iPhone to pownce. These updates will just be fillers till the evening when I posted the daily write-up and pictures.
Pre-WCG LAN

This past weekend Team Fallout hosted the biggest LAN in our history. Four teams came and packed in to our house for some 24-hour gaming. I would like to give a shout out to everyone who came and played or came and help out. We got plenty of 4v4 game in and I am now confident that we will do very well at the WCG Finals. We leave for LA on Thursday, which is just a few days away from now. I posted the pictures of the LAN in our gallery. Expect LANs more often given how successful this one was.

Later I will be posting our coverage plans for WCG and EforALL. Be sure to check back so you know how to keep up with Team Fallout while we are in LA.

9/13 LAN

Last night we had a massive LAN in preparation for WCG. A total of 14 people showed up in Denton for some competitive gaming. We ran a few games of 4v4 before moving on to the main event of the night; the 2v2 tournament. Congrats to Sick Two and Fearist (Christian and Jarrett) on taking first in the tourney. I posted the bracket tournament here.

We are LAN'ing the next 2 weekends, so if you want to come post on this thread.

WCG Update

More info on the WCG US Finals just came in. We will be leaving from Dallas on Thursday October 2nd for Los Angles. Friday will consist of group play for seeding in to a double elimination bracket, which will be played out on Saturday and Sunday. The last team standing on Sunday will be named Team USA, and receive an all expense paid trip to Cologne, Germany. To celebrate this accomplishment, we will be creating new Fallout Shirts just for the US Finals. I will release the artwork when it is complete.

Obviously we need to get a lot of practice in between now and the beginning of October. I am going to try to have a LAN at least every other weekend at Fallout HQ in Denton, between now and October.

WCG Results

I am glad to announce that Team
Fallout placed 2nd this past weekend at the World Cyber Game Southern
Qualifiers. This means that WCG is paying for us to travel to Los Angles for
the National Qualifiers at the beginning of October. I would have to say that
this is Team Fallouts first major accomplishment. Unfortunately we will have to
miss MLG Dallas in order to attend the WCG Nationals. The Nationals take place
at the E for All expo in LA, so in addition to us competing we will be able to
check out the latest games and hardware.

On a related note the past month has brought a roster change. Fearist left the
team and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. In his absence
we picked up Sick Two, who we competed with last year at MLG Dallas. We feel
that he will be a good fit for the team. The roster page has been updated to
reflect these recent events.

I'll post more info about the WCG Nationals as I get it.
